Need to import massive amounts of Data into your Mediawiki? This is the simplest
way to do it.
First of all reformat all your data to conform the xml-format of
Special:Export. You
can do it with a small perl, php oder whateverscript, or you can just an (good)
editor for that. Be sure the xml-file validates, change umlauts and similar
to entities. Username and ID can be found in the database-table "wikiuser".
Import the whole affair.
Now you have hunderes of Pages that are marked as not existent if you link
to them. Any category-information in the items you imported is also non-existant.
No problem, just run the refreshLinks.php script in the maintenance-folder.
After that everything is fine. All items are marked as created, show up in the
Special-Pages, the category is filled with items... done. Took me 5 minutes
of work for about 2800 Entries (a dictionary).
